Call for Participants
International Youth Djembe Festival in Hungary

Dear young djembe players!

We are pleased to tell you that an International Youth Djembe Festival will be organized in August 2008 in Hungary!

If you are between 18 and 25 years old and play djembe or dundun or other african percussion instruments: fill out the sheet we attached and send it back to us by 15th of March, 2008! Even you can organize a group of 4-6 people of your country!

You can also come if you are older: this case, please organize a group of 4-6 djembe players.

Details:

-        Arrival: 23-24th of August to Budapest or to Szeged (South of Hungary)
The festival will be organized in a camp close to Szeged, but out of town. Festival duration:25th-29^th of August.

-        The courses will be held by Abdul Aziz. He is a French djembe teacher, working in Budapest. He plays in Senegal style but he can teach you to play some songs of Mamady Keita or Famodou Konate too.

-        We give a concert at the end of the Festival (30th of August) in Szeged, the centre of town.
All the costs of the festival (food, accomodation, djembe course) will be financed by the Youth in Action Programme, that we apply for.

-        70% of travel costs will be also financed by the programme.

-        You have to bring your djembe (if possible dundun and bell too).

Important:
We need at least 4 applicants from at least 4 European countries (18-25 years old), otherwise the festival cannot be financed by the programme we apply for.

We have to prove your participation in our application: please fill out the form of statement of intention and send it back to us till the 15th of March.
